Anybody selling a car cheap or know someone who is? I'm fairly certain mine is toast.

I was going to post an entry

I've just realized, however, that I've nearly completely forgotten how to write. This is depressing.

Joel got a MacBook. He upgraded it. It's fast.

And whatnot

Happy New Year, and so on.

I have next to, if not exactly, nothing at all to post about, but considering the infrequency of which I update, I felt compelled to offer this as sort of a State of the Union blogging.

Nothing's happening (still delivering pizzas; still enjoying it; still making decent money), but things are in the works (moving soon [hopefully]; macbook).

While on a delivery at Pioneer Place, I saw this guy a couple days before Christmas, so that was kind of cool.

That's about all the interesting I got.

Anyway.

Those of you with nothing to do, the Long Winters are at the Doug Fir tonight. A-holla.

There isn't much happening here. Not much at all.

If you like good songwriting, get yourself a copy of "Putting the Days to Bed" by The Long Winters. It's some good competition for my personal Album o' the Year Award. Right up there with Crane Wife. Every track has (at least) one of those lyrics that makes you want to pause and repeat just to make sure you're really aware of how good it is, and the music seems almost more straightforward than it is. It's more interesting the more you dissect it.

I've been running lately. It's coming along slower than I'd like. Note to self: don't get out of shape in the first place; getting back into shape is teh sux0rz.

Anyhow, St. Patty's is nearly upon us. Those of you in the "group," so to speak, I look forward to seeing you soon.

Nothing better to do

Being sick is kind of lame. I called in Friday. Normally I'd come to work anyway, but I was not up to it.

Days seem to be going by so quickly anymore. I'm not a fan. Maybe that's a good indication I'm not where I ought be. Changes coming maybe.

If you get a chance, go see Children of Men. I enjoyed it.

I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow. Something tells me my absence Friday, in addition to the already short staff, resulted in a mess I'll be working to remedy.

Does anyone want to give me a ride to (9:00am) and/or from (3:00pm) work tomorrow? I suppose the "to" portion is more important, but either would be greatly appreciated.

The Decemberists played a show tonight in a bar in Portland. It was a secret show they played under a fake name for $5. I was second-to-last person they let in. Pictures tomorrow, hopefully.

Anybody want to take me to Rigoberto's (La Conga)? I offer tasty beverage in return.

On with the funny.

It isn't exactly new but I enjoy it as much now as I did when it first aired.

And the remix:

Though in all seriousness, it boggles the mind that someone who knows so little about the internet could have such power concerning its future.

One of those associates, a forty-five-year-old butcher named Maurice Miller, angered by his manager's failure to come through with a promised promotion, turned to the UFCW for help in organizing the meat-cutting department of Wal-Mart No. 180 in Jacksonville, Texas. To unionize a workplace, at least 30 percent of its workers must sign cards calling for an election that is administered by the NLRB. If the union prevails, the employer is required by law to meet with it and bargain in good faith over a contract. (what sounds simple in theory is fraught with complications in practice.) Wal-Mart employed only twelve butchers in Jacksonville, but it took Miller months of heavy persuasion to convince the majority of them to back the union.
